The short version
AI Tech Spectrum is a publication operated by Jaceal, LLC. Some of the links on this site — including most links to commercial AI tools, security products, and other vendors we review — are affiliate links. If you click one of those links and end up purchasing the product, we may receive a commission from the vendor. You do not pay anything extra; your price is identical whether or not you use our link.
The commission is paid by the vendor out of their own marketing budget. Affiliate revenue is one of the ways we keep this site free to read and free of paid placements. We are not paid to write reviews, paid to rank products in a particular order, or paid to recommend specific tools. Vendors do not get to preview our reviews before publication.
Why we disclose this
This is required by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) under 16 CFR Part 255 — the "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising." Every page on this site that contains an affiliate link also contains an inline disclosure box near the top of the article, and every individual affiliate link is marked with rel="sponsored" so that search engines and screen readers can identify it.
We also believe disclosure is the right thing to do regardless of regulation. You're trusting our reviews to help you spend your own money on tools you're going to use every day. We want you to know exactly how we get paid so you can weigh our recommendations accordingly.
How we pick what to recommend
The order in which products appear on a review or comparison page is determined by an internal scoring rubric (capability, value, defensibility of the use case, fit-for-purpose for a stated audience) — not by which vendor pays the highest commission. In several cases the highest-commission vendor in a category is not our top pick, and we say so. Where two products are close on merit, the commission rate breaks no ties.
If we cannot find an affiliate program for a product we genuinely recommend, we link to the vendor's plain marketing page instead. The recommendation comes first; monetization is a layer on top of the editorial.
Programs we participate in
AI Tech Spectrum is a participant in affiliate programs operated by, among others:
- NordVPN and NordPass (via the Nord affiliate program, Tomas Network)
- Proton VPN, ProtonMail, and Proton Pass (via the CJ Affiliate network)
- Malwarebytes (via CJ Affiliate)
- Amazon Associates Program (we earn from qualifying purchases)
- pCloud (direct affiliate program)
- Awin advertiser programs (publisher account approved May 15, 2026)
Programs may be added or removed over time as our coverage and the available vendor list evolve. Where we participate in multiple programs for products in the same category, the comparison-table ordering is still driven by the rubric above.
Display advertising
AI Tech Spectrum also displays Google AdSense advertisements. AdSense ads are programmatic — Google selects and serves them based on Google's policies and the visitor's browsing context. The presence of an ad on a page is not an endorsement of the advertiser by AI Tech Spectrum.
Editorial independence
No vendor — affiliate partner or otherwise — receives advance copy of any review, comparison, or daily brief published on this site. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, "guest contributor" articles, or paid links. Every story below the headline reflects the editorial judgment of the AITS News Desk.
If you spot a factual error in any of our coverage, or believe an editorial position is influenced by commercial considerations, please tell us at our contact page. We take corrections seriously and publish them publicly.
